Spain’s Directorate-General for Traffic (DGT) is advancing road safety through the DGT 3.0 platform, which integrates V16 devices with geolocation to provide real-time traffic data. According to Royal Decree 1030/2022, traditional emergency triangles will be replaced by beacons connected to the DGT by December 31, 2025. What is Safety Light PRO and how is it used?
Safety Light is a V16 emergency warning light designed for vehicles, serving as a replacement for traditional warning triangles. This device emits 360º flashing yellow lights, increasing the visibility of immobilized vehicles. It connects to the DGT 3.0 network, anonymously transmitting the coordinates of the incident, thereby enhancing safety and emergency response. To use it, simply place it on the outside of the vehicle—ideally on the highest point, or on the driver’s door if the roof is not accessible—and activate it by pressing the red button.
